CI Shade uses PVC and PVDF-coated PVC for long-life membrane applications, HDPE for simple shade sails, and can work with ETFE or PTFE where transparency or extreme longevity is required. Steel frames are specified to S355 or equivalent, with hot-dip galvanising and optional epoxy top-coat. We document materials, welding procedures and coating specifications in the project quality plan supplied with every contract.
Typical membrane lifespans vary by material: PVDF-coated membranes commonly last 15–20 years with routine cleaning and UV exposure in the Gulf, while HDPE fabrics last longer for low-cost applications.
