We don’t assume a one-size-fits-all membrane. We use PVDF-coated PVC, PTFE and HDPE depending on application. PVDF membranes specified for exterior use typically show up to 15–20 years of useful life; seams are heat-welded and detail-checked against sand ingress and wind uplift criteria.

Choice International Shade works with a palette of membranes: PVDF-coated PVC for long-life architectural canopies, PTFE for highly durable tensile roofs, ETFE for lightweight transparent cushions and HDPE for low-cost UV screens. Steelwork is typically S355-grade with hot-dip galvanizing and optional powder or epoxy coatings depending on proximity to the coast. All membrane attachments use stainless-steel fittings sized to AS/NZS or EN standards and detailed to prevent ponding. Projects follow a clear sequence: site survey, conceptual design, structural stamping, factory patterning, off-site fabrication and controlled installation.
Membrane maintenance is straightforward: periodic rinsing, inspection of tensioned seams and annual check of anchorages and drainage. A properly detailed PVDF membrane will not require major repair for many years. CI Shade offers maintenance contracts and warranty support; we plan access and inspection points during design to reduce future service costs.
