Choice International Shade (CI Shade) - the Gulf Region's leading experts in high-quality tensile and structural shading solutions. Based in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.
School shade structures are engineered fabric canopies and steel-frame shelters designed to protect playgrounds, courtyards and outdoor learning areas from intense sun, wind and sand. In the Eastern Province they do more than provide shade; they reduce surface temperatures, extend usable outdoor hours and comply with local safety expectations. CI Shade designs and installs these systems specifically for schools, education authorities and campus owners who need repeatable quality across multiple sites.
CI Shade brings 23+ years of regional experience and an 8,000 m² off-site production capacity. We work across Saudi Arabia and Bahrain and deliver Gulf-stamped engineering calculations that meet 120–175 kph wind load requirements where needed.
We engineer school shade structures to perform in the Gulf climate, not just to look good on a drawing. That means specifying the right membrane, detailing perimeter drainage, and designing connections to resist sand-laden gusts. The result: durable canopies that reduce ambient temperatures under the canopy and stand up to long-term exposure.
We specify fabrics such as PVC and PVDF-coated membranes or high-density polyethylene where ventilation is required. Design loads are calculated to Gulf practices with wind-rating options from 120–175 kph. Thermal comfort improvements are measured in reduced surface temperatures and lower radiant heat where shading is continuous.
CI Shade uses CAD and SolidWorks for patterning, steel connection details and fabrication drawings. We produce stamped calculations and shop drawings so campus planners and local engineers can approve designs without delay. Value engineering is routine; sometimes a small change in membrane geometry avoids expensive foundation work.
School shade structures are flexible. We deliver single-span colonnade covers, multi-bay carpark canopies, tensile-roofed assembly areas and shaded walkways that connect buildings on campus.
We deliver stamped calculations for Saudi and Bahrain approvals. That includes wind and snow (where applicable) checks, bolt schedules, and steel grade specifications so local structural reviewers get the information they need fast.
All membrane cutting and primary welding is done in our 8,000 m² facility to control quality and reduce on-site time. That lowers disruption to school operations and ensures consistent fabrication tolerances across multiple canopies.
We work with PVC and PVDF-coated fabrics, HDPE knitted shade cloth and specialty membranes such as ETFE and PTFE when projects call for them. Steelwork is specified with galvanised or painted finishes, and connection details follow local codes with attention to fatigue-critical points. CI Shade manages design, fabrication, transport and installation so responsibility stays with one supplier from concept to handover.
Maintainable details matter. We provide cleaning and inspection schedules, recommend anchorage inspections after major storms, and supply warranty documentation with every project. Schools typically choose lower-maintenance membranes and simple drainage details to reduce lifecycle costs — an upfront trade-off that saves facility managers time and budget over a decade.
