Choice International Shade (CI Shade) - the Gulf Region's leading experts in high-quality tensile and structural shading solutions. Based in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.
PVDF tensile structures use a polyester base fabric coated with a PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride) topcoat to create durable, UV-resistant membrane canopies. Architects, contractors and facility managers in Jeddah specify PVDF for shaded carparks, walkways and pool covers because the membrane reduces heat gain while keeping the form minimal and elegant. PVDF tensile structures Jeddah projects balance long-term performance with sculptural freedom.
CI Shade brings 23+ years of regional experience and full-service delivery across Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. We produce Gulf-stamped engineering (120–175 kph wind ratings), shop drawings and on-site installation from our 8,000 m² manufacture facility.
PVDF membranes deliver a strong weather-resistance profile tailored for the Gulf climate: high UV stability, lower surface chalking and reduced solar heat transmittance compared with uncoated fabrics. The membrane’s finish also helps with self-cleaning during occasional rain and scheduled wash-downs — which matters when dust and salt are constant variables on Jeddah façades and coastal developments.
We engineer every canopy for local conditions. Our calculations are Gulf-stamped and cover wind loads up to 175 kph where project requirements demand it. That means the steel sub-frames, anchor details and membrane prestress are specified to handle sand-laden gusts, thermal cycling and extended UV exposure without compromising the form.
CI Shade runs CAD and SolidWorks modelling in-house and produces fabric patterning and CNC-ready shop drawings. We work with architects from concept through construction documents, offering value engineering where it preserves design intent and reduces long-term lifecycle cost. Stamped calculations are issued under our KSA engineering credentials.
PVDF tensile membranes are not a one-size-fits-all product. They suit projects that need a high-performance finish with refined aesthetics.
Our engineering package includes Gulf-stamped calculations (120–175 kph as required), detailed connection drawings and third-party coordination. We specify anchorages and structural sleeves to integrate with concrete and steelwork on KSA projects.
Off-site manufacturing is done in our 8,000 m² facility with ISO-aligned processes. That lets us control seam quality, PVDF coating adhesion and pre-stress rigging, reducing on-site work and programme risk.
PVDF membranes are offered as PVC base fabric with a PVDF topcoat applied for UV and chemical resistance. CI Shade stocks and specifies PVDF-coated PVC in popular grammages and colours and uses hot-welded seam technology with tensile patterning produced from SolidWorks outputs. Steelwork is manufactured to client specifications with suitable corrosion protection – hot-dip galvanising or epoxy primer + polyurethane finish depending on the environment and architectural finish.
A PVDF surface reduces chalking and improves long-term aesthetics, but life expectancy depends on the project environment and maintenance schedule. We offer maintenance contracts that include periodic inspections, tension checks, seam reviews and scheduled cleaning; the programmes are designed to protect investment and uphold warranty conditions.
