Choice International Shade (CI Shade) - the Gulf Region's leading experts in high-quality tensile and structural shading solutions. Based in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.
pvc tensile membrane structures Makkah are engineered fabric roofs and canopies that use PVC-coated polyester to span large areas with minimal steel. Architects, contractors and facility managers specify them for shaded carparks, walkways and public spaces because they cut glare and reduce surface temperatures without heavy structural depth. They work particularly well in hot, high-UV climates where modular, fast-install options beat concrete canopies for speed and cost.
CI Shade designs, fabricates and installs these systems across Saudi Arabia and Bahrain from its 8,000 m² production facility. Our work follows Gulf-stamped engineering (120–175 kph wind designs), ISO processes and Aramco-approved procedures; see our Projects & Clients for recent installations.
For Makkah projects you need shading that survives heat, sand and relentless UV. PVC tensile membrane structures deliver a proven balance: a lightweight fabric that reflects solar radiation, combined with a steel frame engineered to local wind loads. CI Shade handles the whole lifecycle — design, patterning, off-site fabrication and on-site installation — so you get predictable timelines and fewer on-site surprises.
We engineer membranes with UV-stabilised PVC and optional PVDF top coats to resist chalking and degradation. Structures are calculated for 120–175 kph wind loads as required, and details such as curved profiles and pre-tensioning reduce flapping and water pooling. The result: less thermal loading on paved surfaces and durable shading that performs through sandstorms and seasonal heat.
Design begins in CAD and SolidWorks with full fabric patterning and shop drawings. We provide Gulf-stamped calculations, finite-element form-finding where needed, and value-engineering options to hit budget targets without compromising safety. Clients review 3D models and stamped documents before fabrication — that reduces RFIs during construction.
PVC tensile membrane structures suit a wide range of sites in Makkah and the wider GCC.
Off-site fabrication in our 8,000 m² facility reduces on-site time and improves quality control. Fabric welding, panel finishing and steel pre-assembly happen under cover — fewer site delays, cleaner installations and faster handover.
We operate under ISO-certified procedures and hold approvals required for major Gulf contractors. That translates to documented QA, traceable materials and compliance with regional procurement standards.
Typical membranes are PVC-coated polyester with heat-welded seams; PVDF top-coatings are available for extended life and easier cleaning. CI Shade also supplies HDPE for privacy screens, ETFE for lightweight glazing and PTFE where extreme longevity is required. Structural steel is specified to S275/S355 equivalents with hot-dip galvanising or epoxy primer and polyurethane top-coats as project conditions demand. Our process follows a clear sequence: site survey, concept design, stamped engineering, off-site fabrication, certified installation and handover documentation.
Expected service life for PVC membranes in Gulf exposure commonly falls in the 15–20 year range depending on coatings and maintenance. Regular inspections for seam integrity, tension adjustments and cleaning extend life and protect warranty cover. CI Shade offers scheduled maintenance contracts and reactive repairs to keep structures performing across Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.
