Choice International Shade (CI Shade) - the Gulf Region's leading experts in high-quality tensile and structural shading solutions. Based in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.
PVC tensile membrane structures are engineered fabric canopies made from PVC-coated polyester that are tensioned over a steel framework. PVC tensile membrane structures Eastern Province are designed for architects, contractors and facility managers who need shaded, long-span coverage that performs in intense sun, sand and seasonal winds. They reduce solar heat gain, create distinctive architectural forms and, when detailed correctly, last for many years in Gulf conditions.
CI Shade designs, manufactures and installs these systems across Saudi Arabia and Bahrain from our 8,000 m² production facility. With 23+ years in the industry and ISO and Aramco approvals, we supply Gulf-stamped engineering calculations and shop drawings to meet project specifications.
PVC membranes balance cost, flexibility and proven field performance. They fold into complex geometries, weld reliably at joints and, with the right coating, resist UV degradation and surface soiling. For clients in the Eastern Province the combination of material selection, Gulf-stamped engineering and correct anchorage is what separates a short-lived canopy from a project that meets budget and lasts.
We specify PVC-coated polyester with UV-stable topcoats and test seam weld strength to client standards. CI Shade engineers the structure for wind loads typical to the region — our packages include stamped calculations covering 120–175 kph where required. That matters because uplift and sand ingestion are the real failure modes, not just sun bleaching.
Design starts in CAD and SolidWorks. We produce fabric patterning, CNC-cut templates and shop drawings, then run value-engineering to keep weight and cost optimal. If your consultant needs Gulf-stamped drawings or Aramco-compatible documentation we provide those, and we coordinate with civil and mechanical teams on anchor detail and sequencing.
PVC tensile membrane structures in the Eastern Province are used wherever shade, weather protection or visual identity are required. They integrate with carparks, walkways, pool areas and public plazas without expensive secondary structures.
We use PVC-coated polyester fabrics with a welded seam system and optional PVDF or acrylic topcoats for extra UV resistance. Seams are high-frequency welded and tensioned to pattern tolerances to avoid flutter and premature wear.
From CAD and stamped engineering to off-site manufacture in our 8,000 m² facility and certified onsite installation teams — CI Shade controls quality at every stage. That reduces delays and simplifies contractor coordination on Gulf projects.
Typical PVC tensile membrane structures use PVC-coated polyester (commonly called PVC-P) in weights from 550 g/m² to 1,200 g/m² depending on span and exposure. Frames are fabricated from hot-dip galvanised or painted structural steel; bolt patterns, gussets and baseplates are detailed to suit site concrete and bearing capacity. Our workflow: site survey → concept sketch → structural modelling → fabric patterning → off-site fabrication → factory inspection → installation and handover.
PVC membranes have an expected service life of 12–20 years depending on exposure and maintenance. Simple maintenance—periodic washing to remove salt and dust, seam inspection after storms and prompt repair of punctures—extends life significantly. CI Shade offers maintenance contracts and warranty support aligned with project requirements.
