Choice International Shade (CI Shade) - the Gulf Region's leading experts in high-quality tensile and structural shading solutions. Based in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.
PTFE shade structures Al Khobar are tensile membrane canopies built with PTFE-coated fiberglass fabric and engineered steel frames to provide long-term sun, heat and sand protection. Architects, contractors and facility managers specify them where durability under intense UV and thermal cycling matters — carparks, pedestrian streets, pool decks and atria. They look lightweight, but the engineering behind a PTFE roof is anything but.
CI Shade designs, fabricates and installs PTFE systems from its 8,000 m² production facility and supports clients across Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. We supply Gulf-stamped calculations, shop drawings and on-site installation teams familiar with local permitting and Aramco-approved procedures.
PTFE shade structures Al Khobar perform where ordinary fabrics fail. The PTFE-coated glass-fibre membrane delivers exceptional tensile strength, high-temperature resistance and a low surface energy that sheds dirt and prevents long-term staining. CI Shade pairs that membrane with hot-dip galvanised or duplex-coated steel frames, engineered to Gulf wind loads between 120–175 kph and detailed for sand, salt and intense UV exposure.
We design frames and anchorages specifically for desert conditions. Wind loading is calculated and stamped for the project; we use CAD and SolidWorks to model fabric form-finding and verify stresses. The result: a canopy that reduces solar gain beneath the membrane by up to 70% (dependent on colour and membrane spec) and resists deformation during seasonal wind events.
CI Shade handles patterning, CNC cutting and full shop drawings in-house. That means we iterate with architects on profile, light transmission and drainage, then produce stamped calculation packages for permits. Our team collaborates from concept through to on-site tensioning and post-install inspection — no surprises, just measured control at each stage.
PTFE systems suit projects that demand long service life and architectural expression. Typical deployments include:
We deliver stamped calculations for 120–175 kph design envelopes, full shop drawings and fabrication patterns. That reduces approval time and keeps structural coordination tight with MEP and civil packages.
Our 8,000 m² facility runs CNC patterning and precision welding, with ISO processes governing material traceability and QA. Off-site manufacture shortens site disruption and improves final fit during installation.
PTFE membrane is typically a glass-fibre substrate with a PTFE coating that offers thermal stability, chemical resistance and a very low coefficient of friction. We can specify clear-span cable-supported canopies or framed membrane panels, with steel grades and coatings selected for coastal or inland environments. Typical complements include hot-dip galvanised S355 or S355JR sections with epoxy primer and polyurethane top-coat for duplex protection where required.
PTFE requires minimal maintenance compared with PVC or HDPE: occasional rinsing removes salt and dust, while inspections focus on seams, edge connections and tension levels. CI Shade offers scheduled maintenance programs and warranty support tied to material manufacturer recommendations and our installation workmanship standards.
