Choice International Shade (CI Shade) - the Gulf Region's leading experts in high-quality tensile and structural shading solutions. Based in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.
PTFE fabric structures are tensile membrane systems that use PTFE-coated glass-fibre membranes to create long-span, low-maintenance roofs and canopies. Architects, contractors and facility managers specifying PTFE fabric structures Madinah choose them for clear-span coverage, translucency and an exceptionally long service life compared with many polymer alternatives. These systems suit carparks, stadium covers, covered walkways and atria where daylight, fire resistance and minimal maintenance matter.
CI Shade has 23+ years of regional experience designing, fabricating and installing tensile systems across Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. We combine Gulf-stamped engineering, ISO procedures and an 8,000 m² off-site facility to deliver PTFE projects that meet Aramco and municipal requirements.
PTFE fabric structures Madinah perform where Gulf conditions push materials hard: intense UV, thermal cycling and sand abrasion. PTFE-coated glass maintains tensile strength, resists yellowing and sheds dirt naturally, so you get predictable light transmission and a lower lifetime maintenance burden. CI Shade handles the engineering, so you don’t have to guess at wind loads or connection details.
We engineer PTFE systems to Gulf-stamped standards and can design for wind loads between 120–175 kph depending on site class and exposure. The PTFE membrane resists UV degradation and has proven performance in high-solar environments; it doesn’t embrittle like some PVC blends. That matters when a structure must last decades with minimal intervention.
CI Shade uses CAD and SolidWorks for form-finding, patterning and shop drawings. We provide stamped calculations and coordination drawings so the client, structural engineer and contractor all have a single source of truth. Fabric patterning is done in-house and panels are matched to the steel geometry to control pre-tension and water drainage.
PTFE fabric structures are flexible in use and scale. Expect clean, durable coverage where you need long spans and low maintenance.
We supply stamped engineering calculations for local authorities and major clients, with designs that consider wind, seismic and thermal effects. Our supply includes documented maintenance guidance and warranty support aligned to material manufacturer terms.
Off-site manufacture in an 8,000 m² facility reduces site risk and improves QA. All cutting, welding and inspection follows ISO procedures and CI Shade’s in-house patterning ensures panel tolerances match field connections.
PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) coated glass-fibre membranes provide high tensile strength, excellent fire performance and exceptional UV resistance. CI Shade can advise when PTFE is the correct choice versus PVDF/PVC/ETFE options based on translucency, service life and budget. Structural frames use hot-rolled or fabricated steel with protective coatings suitable for the Gulf (zinc-rich primers plus polyurethane topcoats where specified).
PTFE membrane life expectancy commonly exceeds 25–30 years under normal Gulf exposure when correctly detailed. Routine inspections twice yearly and wash-downs as required keep reflectivity and drainage performance optimal. CI Shade offers planned maintenance packages and can train client teams on basic inspection checkpoints.
