Choice International Shade (CI Shade) - the Gulf Region's leading experts in high-quality tensile and structural shading solutions. Based in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.
Entrance canopy structures Saudi Arabia are purpose-built covered entrances that protect people and buildings from sun, wind and sand. Architects, facility managers and developers specify them for hotels, office campuses, hospitals and retail centres when first impressions must also be functional. A well-designed canopy controls glare, reduces direct heat load on façades, and channels storm runoff away from doorways.
CI Shade designs and delivers turnkey entrance canopies across Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. We combine Gulf-stamped structural calculations with off-site fabrication in our 8,000 m² facility and factory-trained installation teams so projects run to schedule and to spec.
You want an entrance that performs — not just looks good on paper. CI Shade engineers entrance canopy structures to meet Gulf conditions: intense UV, high ambient temperatures and episodic high winds. We select membrane systems and steel finishes that reduce surface temperatures, resist fading and deliver predictable service life.
Wind loads in the region vary; our calculations cover the required 120–175 kph ranges and are stamped for local approvals. Use of PVDF-coated PVC or PTFE membranes gives long-term UV resistance and a self-cleaning surface; HDPE is offered for shaded walkways where breathability matters. The steelwork is hot-dip galvanised or epoxy-coated with additional polyester topcoats where specified — corrosion control matters after sandstorms.
We model canopies in CAD and SolidWorks, then produce fabric patterning and shop drawings in-house. That matters because pattern accuracy reduces on-site adjustments. Clients get stamped structural calculations, connection details and pre-engineered shop packs. We work with architects early to resolve interface conditions and with contractors to sequence installation around MEP and façade works.
Entrance canopy structures are multi-purpose. They provide weather protection, wayfinding and a branded arrival sequence. Typical deployments include:
Our calculations are prepared for local approval and can be issued with Gulf-stamped structural reports covering wind, snow (where applicable) and connection design. This reduces RFIs at permit stage and speeds procurement.
Production happens off-site in an 8,000 m² facility. Off-site fabrication keeps site disruption low and gives consistent welds, patching and quality control — important on busy hospital and hotel projects where downtime is not an option.
Entrance canopies at CI Shade commonly use PVDF-coated PVC, PTFE-coated glass-fibre or HDPE knitted fabrics depending on the brief. Steelwork is typically S355 with appropriate galvanising and topcoats; stainless steel is used where architectural exposed finishes are required. Our process: brief → conceptual options → detailed design → shop drawings → off-site fabrication → on-site installation and final snagging.
Expect 15–20 years from PVDF membranes with routine wash cycles. PTFE offers longer life but higher upfront cost. We provide maintenance programmes: annual inspections, tension checks, membrane cleaning and bolt torque verification. Warranties are issued with each contract and we support handover documentation for asset managers.
