Choice International Shade (CI Shade) - the Gulf Region's leading experts in high-quality tensile and structural shading solutions. Based in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.
Architectural membrane structures Saudi Arabia are engineered fabric roofs and façades designed to meet heavy Gulf sun, sand and wind. They pair tensile fabrics such as PVDF-coated PVC or PTFE/PTFE-glass with steel support frames to create shaded, visually distinctive coverages for carparks, entrances, arenas and courtyards. Architects, contractors and facility managers choose these systems for long-span coverage where clearances, daylighting and thermal control matter.
CI Shade has 23+ years of regional experience designing and delivering membrane projects across Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. We produce Gulf-stamped calculations (120–175 kph wind load), shop drawings in SolidWorks/CAD and off-site fabricate at our 8,000 m² facility to reduce on-site risk and programme time.
They reduce solar gain, create large uninterrupted covered areas and give architects freedom to sculpt form while keeping costs lower than comparable steel-roof enclosures. CI Shade engineers the entire delivery so clients get Gulf-ready membrane solutions: patterning, CNC cutting, seam welding, certified anchorage and final tensioning. That matters because a poorly detailed membrane fails at seams or edges under sand-laden winds.
We design membranes to withstand intense UV, thermal cycling and the region's wind regimes. Typical wind-load stamping ranges from 120 to 175 kph depending on location and exposure. For fabrics we recommend PVDF-coated PVC for moderate to heavy use — PVDF topcoats extend cleaning intervals and resist chalking — and PTFE-glass for high-end, long-life tensile roofs; expected service lives vary by material and exposure.
CI Shade produces context-specific solutions: parametric form-finding where required, full SolidWorks/CAD shop drawings, and fabric patterning delivered with fabrication nests. We supply Gulf-stamped structural calculations, connection details, and coordinate with MEP and architect teams. Value engineering is common on large projects to balance span, column placement and waterproofing details.
Architectural membrane structures Saudi Arabia are versatile and appear across public and private sectors for both functional and branded architecture.
We deliver Gulf-stamped calculations (120–175 kph), shop drawings and connection details. Projects include Aramco-approved processes and ISO-compliant QA to match client procurement requirements.
Our 8,000 m² production facility handles CNC cutting, heat-welding and assembly. Off-site manufacture shortens site works and improves quality control, which lowers rework and schedule risk on tight Gulf programmes.
We specify fabrics based on use-case: PVDF-coated PVC for a balance of cost and durability, PTFE-glass for premium longevity, HDPE for lightweight, breathable shade walls, and ETFE where high translucency is required. Steelwork typically uses S275/S355 sections with hot-dip galvanizing and optional epoxy-polyurethane topcoats for coastal exposure. The process follows a clear sequence: site survey, concept and form-finding, engineering and stamping, off-site manufacture, then certified installation and handover.
Membrane lifespan depends on material and exposure; PVDF finishes commonly extend service life and ease cleaning intervals. CI Shade offers maintenance packages: scheduled inspections, seam checks, tension adjustments and local repairs. Warranty support and O&M documentation are provided at handover to assist facility managers with lifecycle planning.
